How you’ll make an impact
Undertaking various simulation studies, such as dynamic performance studies, individually or as part of a team on a daily basis to analyze FACTS plants and verify their performance in the connected grid
Making reports out of studies and presenting to customers
Understanding customer needs by reading customer specifications and participating in customer meetings
Coordination and communication with all disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries as well as in close connection to research and development activities
Having ambition in learning and sharing critical knowledge in today’s power system
As Sweden is the Global Center of Competence for FACTS engineering within Hitachi, you will be in frequent contact with the other engineering disciplines, sub-suppliers, project managers, customers and other Hitachi units in an international environment.

Your background
You hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar and have at least five years of job experience within power systems analysis
It is preferred that you have knowledge and experience of the programs and tools we are using: RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, MATLAB, EMTP-RV, Python etc
It is considered as a merit if you have previous experience in modelling of windfarms and studying their stability in projects with the STATCOM application along with Synchronous Condenser Machine modeling and studies
It is considered as a merit if you have previous experience of working in tenders and are familiar with activities such as cost estimation, coordination with sales, understanding customer specification
Since you will be working in an international environment it is essential that you communicate fluently in English. Additional language skills are qualifying but not required.

Network Control is offering an internship within Customer Experience at our Västerås office. You will work with a large-scale, mission-critical software system that helps customers monitor and operate electrical power grids.

The opportunity
Plant Electrical Design is part of HVDC Engineering and manages the delivery of the auxiliary power system for HVDC stations. The system we manage includes equipment such as auxiliary transformers, medium & low voltage switchgear, diesel generator systems, batteries, UPS and cables. To be able to deliver the system in a safe and reliable way, we are now searching for more Design Leads to strengthen our team.
In this role, you will have the overall responsibility for the department’s scope of delivery regarding auxiliary power equipment, which includes system design, selectivity studies, equipment specification, cable and cable transit systems. Part of your tasks will be to ensure that our deliveries are time and cost efficient with expected quality. The design of the auxiliary system is complex and customized based on the customer requirements which makes our work challenging, but also very exciting since every project is different from another.
As a Design Lead, you will act as the leader of the team and guide your team of Designers throughout the various tasks within auxiliary power scope. Your background
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience within auxiliary power, selectivity studies or leading installation/commissioning of low voltage equipment.
A couple of years of technical competence and leadership experience, including planning, delegation, guidance and follow-up.

Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken).

As Project SCM Specialist you will be the focal point between HVDC and our suppliers during the execution phase of our projects.
