As Engineering Manager Electrification and Automation, you will lead the Mining and Materials operations team in Sweden. You will manage and develop a team of engineers, oversee delivery of mine hoist projects, and set strategic directions for automation and electrification. We are seeking a strong leader with proven management skills and the vision to drive innovation and transformation.

Qualifications for the Role
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, combined with strong leadership credentials.
Minimum 5 years of experience in managing engineering teams within industrial or mining environments.
Proven track record of leading complex, project-driven organizations and delivering results through others.
Solid knowledge of safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards, with the ability to embed them into team practices.
Demonstrated success in managing budgets, optimizing resources, and achieving performance targets.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience in customer and partner engagement.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks, applied at organizational level.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and build a culture of innovation and accountability.

Du kommer i framtiden att delta vid idrifttagningar av ställverk och få möjlighet att ingå i en beredskapsgrupp.

Erfarenhet av att testa skydd med Omicron eller liknande testutrustning.
Erfarenhet av idrifttagning, provning och anläggningskonstruktion, är meriterande.
Kunskaper om reläskydd och 61850 protokoll.
Meriterande är att ha arbetet med liknande produkter tidigare inklusive ABB:s kraftprodukter.

Du har B-körkort.

Your responsibilities

Your background

Experience with real-time operating systems (e.g., Windows Embedded Compact, VxWorks) is advantageous.
Comfortable working across all stages of the development process, including testing, debugging, documentation and code review.

Your Role and Responsibilities
At ABB Machines in Västerås, we design and manufacture world-class high-efficiency motors and generators delivered to customers around the globe. We are now looking for a Control Panel Tester to join our production team and play a key role in ensuring that every control panel to our machine meets our customers’ expectations.
As a Control Panel Tester you will be part of a close-knit team responsible for the final testing and verification of our customized control panel to our electrical machines before delivery. You will work in a technically challenging and varied environment, performing testing, measurements, and verifying PLC and protection relay program. You will also have the opportunity to meet and collaborate directly with customers from all over the world who visit our facilities to witness final acceptance tests (FAT).


Your key responsibilities will include:
Perform final testing of control panels, including electrical setup, measurement, and verifying PLC and protection relay program
Troubleshoot and identify electrical and program issues in control panels.
Collaborate with designers, production staff, and meeting customers during the testing process.
Actively contribute to continuous improvement and safety initiatives within the testing department.



Qualifications for the role
Experience in testing or commissioning of electrical equipment, involving control panels or test systems, supported by education in electrical power engineering, automation, or control technology.

Join ABB Measurement & Analytics in developing the next generation of Stressometer, the market-leading flatness measurement system for the metals industry. You’ll play a key role in evolving our software platform, adapting it to customer needs, and driving continuous improvement through cutting-edge technologies.
Much of our current focus is on remote services, using machine learning and cloud solutions for diagnostics and process supervision, as well as ongoing advancements in our advanced MIMO control systems. Your role and responsibilities
Develop and enhance technical products and software solutions for future requirements.
Take part in the entire process — from concept and design to testing, implementation, and customer support.
Program primarily in Java and C#, with other languages used as needed.
Contribute ideas, share knowledge, and take ownership of product improvements.

Your background
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent.
Experience in modern industrial software development; proficiency in C++, C#, and/or Java is a plus.
Ability to apply theory to practical problem solving and create customer value.
A responsible, collaborative team player aligned with ABB’s goals.
Experience with the Stressometer system or rolling mill flatness control is an advantage.
Fluent in Swedish and English.

Ansvarsområden:
I rollen får du möjlighet att ta eget ansvar för konstruktionsarbetet samtidigt som du ingår i projektteamet där ni samarbetar för att säkra tekniska lösningar och goda projektleveranser för våra kunders räkning.
Säkerställa att lösning med tillhörande konstruktion uppfyller kundens krav, lagar och standarder.

I rollen ingår att inhämta information från våra kunder, genomföra platsbesök samt ibland delta vid provning och idrifttagning.

Din bakgrund
Du har goda tekniska kunskaper inom elkraft som du anskaffat dig genom praktiska erfarenhet på fältet som t.ex. servicetekniker eller kontrollanläggningsingenjör. Högskoleingenjörsexamen med inriktning elkraft är meriterande men inget krav.
Du har god teknisk förståelse för elsystemets uppbyggnad, från låg till mellanspänning. Meriterande om du har kunskaper och erfarenhet om ABB:s ställverk och dess ingående komponenter.
Du har god kunskap och erfarenhet av konstruktion i AutoCad, ElProCad och/eller elMaster.
Du har god erfarenhet av att arbeta med reläskydd, konstruktion och installation. Tidigare erfarenhet av konfigurering, 61850 protokoll, provning & idrifttagning, felsökning samt elinstallations Auktorisation A, AL är meriterande.
Du är en strukturerad person som gillar att konstruera samt analysera och förstå problematiken kring elkraftsanläggningar för att hitta kvalitativa lösningar.
Du är engagerad, noggrann och gillar att arbeta mot uppsatta mål och deadlines. Du är också serviceinriktad och har förmågan att kommunicera tydligt både i tal och skrift på svenska och engelska, både internt och till externa parter.
Eftersom resor ingår i tjänsten är det krav att du innehar B-körkort.

Your Responsibilities
Customer Support & Diagnostics: Assist customers with our products by analyzing issues, reviewing logs, performing remote diagnostics, and reproducing problems in lab environments.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Are you a hands-on leader who thrives on turning ideas into action? We're looking for a proactive and driven Team Lead to guide our Research & Development (R&D) team within the Product Line Traction Motors. In this role, you won’t just manage — you’ll make things happen.
You’ll be at the heart of our global R&D efforts, coaching and developing a talented team to meet ambitious targets. Your day-to-day will involve coordinating R&D activities to ensure they align with business needs, while actively contributing to technology development, platform strategy, and Intellectual Property management.
You’ll collaborate closely with Product Line Management globally, Product Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams across Sweden and China. Reporting directly to the Global Head of R&D for the Traction Division, you’ll be a key player in shaping the future of our traction motor products.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Hiring, professional development, and leading a team of 12 R&D engineers in Sweden
Coordinating plans for capacity, people, and resources for R&D projects in Sweden and China
Overseeing efficient, timely and quality execution over the projects
Developing and acquiring competencies, tools, and infrastructure that will be needed for the development of products.
Serving as a technical resource for the team and providing technical support for internal and external contacts.

Qualifications for the Role
To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
Extensive experience in development of electrical machines, preferably for railway or off-road vehicle applications
A demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills for projects, people, and stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment
A degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a relevant technical field.
Sound knowledge of design engineering, simulation, CAD, PLM and ERP tools related to electrical machines
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies and methods
Proficiency in English, written and spoken

We find it valuable if you have:
Knowledge of industry standards and development processes relevant to railway and e-mobility applications
Previous experience in line management or portfolio responsibility, including managing large projects
Hands-on experience with permanent magnet motors
